The Longest Homeruns in Major League Baseball history

The other day I stumbled upon Jose Canseco’s mammoth homerun at the Toronto Skydome, which at the time was estimated to have landed 540 feet from the home plate. ”Oh my goodness!”. You can see the video here :

That impressive display of power (and steroid use) piqued my interest so I googled (is that an official verb now by the way?) ”longest homerun in Major League Baseball history” only to be very disappointed. Unfortunately, there isn’t much accurate and official information on the web regarding this topic because the MLB doesn’t keep records of ”yo dawg what’s the biggest bomb eva?”. Sure they’ll keep stats on who hit the most homeruns in his career, most homers in a season, in the playoffs and even how many they hit past 8:00 p.m. on syndays when it’s less than 80 degrees but if we want to know anything about distance, we’ll have to do some digging. Is Alpha Brain dangerous?

Following my last post : Does Alpha Brain really work? I realized I might have missed a key point on this topic. A lot of people are wondering if taking this brain enhancing supplement is actually safe for their health. With a bunch of other more hardcore mind enhancers on the market like piracetam, aniracetam, modafinil, cerebrolysin and many others it’s normal to ask that question. There have been very few (if any at all) negative reviews and negative side effects related to the Alpha Brain pills but there have been a lot of skeptical people. Like hippos for example.

What we can do is look at the 11 ingredients on the label (which are all well-known in the supplement industry.. no magic formula here) and check out if there are any known side effects to long-term use on any of them. [Read more…]

Since the last 2 or 3 years there has been increased popularity in mind performance enhancing supplements or nootropics as they are usually called. You know the usual pitch : ”Working a highly stressful executive job? Playing an elite level competitive sport where you need razor sharp focus and absolutely need to perform? Give youself an edge with this natural supplement blah blah”. Well guess what, when I heard that pitch I was like yeah count me in! The Glory Days of Ronnie Coleman

Following the post ” What Ronnie Coleman Looks like Today (2013) ” I noticed big Ron was still more popular than I thought, even after years of retirement from pro bodybuilding. That previous post did not really glorify his physique so I decided to pop out a few old pictures underlining his best years as a profesionnal bodybuilder. For those of you who think they’ve seen it all, I really recommend checking these out because even after seeing his popular pictures dozens of times I’m still impressed by the stunning physique he displayed on stage every year. There was never such a talented-slash-genetically gifted bodybuilder in history (except maybe for Arnold) and it might take a long time before we get to see another like him.

Eric Spoto breaks Raw BenchPress world Record 2013

Do not try this at home kids. Powerlifter Eric Spoto just broke the world record for raw bench press (meaning that the lift was not assisted by any sort of equipment, popular one being the benchpress shirt). At the signal of the judges, the man successfully pressed a ridiculously impressive 722 lb (327.5 kg), at the Southern Powerlifting Federation California State Powerlifting Meet in Sacramento, California on May 19, 2013. The previous record was being held by Scott Mendelson who pressed 715 pounds (324.3 kg) on May 22, 2005 at the New England Bench Press Classic. At the event, Eric Spoto lifted 661 lb (300 kg) on his first attempt, followed by 716 lb (325 kg) and his final lift of 722 pounds earning him 5 500$ prize money while making him the top ranked raw bench presser in the world today. How Strong are Professional Bodybuilders

Ahh the famous Bodybuilders vs Powerlifters debate. Common sense says that powerlifters are stronger and that bodybuilders are bigger. Sounds good right. But let’s explore those claims in a little more detail right away.

You may hear that subject a lot from bros in your gym. But yo pro bodybuilders are juiced up to hell and they’re not even that strong. ”It’s all pump and steroids man!” Well this is somewhat true but at that same time not even close to reality. Yes you will hear guys like Kai Greene and other bodybuilders tell you that building muscle size and definition for the scene has nothing to do with lifting heavy weights. We’re not powerlifters they say. It’s all about technique, contraction, time under tension and breaking the muscle down so that it grows back bigger.
